- JView Readme file, 2-25-96
-
- This should be the last beta for JView 1.0. With the exception
- of running REXX scripts and printing to an EPS file, all functions,
- dialogs, help files, etc. are thought to be complete and bug free.
- Do not try and run REXX scripts, results will be extremely
- unpredictable.
-
- Feel free to put this program through your worst, any feedback
- (pro or con) is greatly appreciated - especially functional errors
- or events that cause crashes.
-
- If you have been using a previous JView beta
- virtually every JView related file has changed.
- You must delete all previous files, including
- slideshows that you have created.

- Final version expected to be out by March 15. (Yea, but what year?)
-
- Unless the comment is style/spelling related,
- please include the type of computer you have - 486, Pentium, etc.
- The amount of RAM you have. If you are operating over a
- network. Any information about your graphics setup -
- the bit depth (8, 15, 16, 24), brand of graphics board,
- amount of graphics memory. If you have any kind of
- unusual setup - really large drive with lots of files in a single
- directory, etc.
-
- One last thing. JView uses temporary files that get placed in the
- directory that you have declared as tmp (your config.sys file should
- have something like SET TMP = C:\TMP). If JView crashes it may
- leave temporary files in this directory (they will always begin with
- JVW). Previous betas had these files as write protected, this
- is not longer the case. Just delete them as you would
- any file.
